Sport Premium Funding to Primary Schools
Sports Premium Funding is money that the Government gives to Primary Schools to improve physical education (PE) and sport. This funding (£150 million per annum) can only be used by schools to improve their provision of PE and sport. The actual amount of funding that primary schools receive from the Government is £8,000 plus £5 per primary-aged child (aged 5-11) as recoded in the annual schools census. This year (2015/16) Mason Moor received £9085 in Sports Premium funding.
The Department for Education Vision for the Primary PE and Sport Premium Funding is that all pupils leaving primary school should be physically literate and with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy, active lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical activity and sport.
